REWARDING SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

DIMAD, Asociación Diseñadores de Madrid and Fundación Diseño Madrid, proposed, with support from significant personalities in the world of design, architecture and education and training, the establishment of a European Environmental Design Award, thus setting up a platform from which to encourage and spread as much as possible good practice whereby design introduces into the production processes and the products themselves environmental values and sustainable model patterns, that contribute to improving social and consumer practices and current production processes.

PROMOTERS AND ORGANISERS OF THIS AWARD

The key organisers of this Award are DIMAD, Central de Diseño and Matadero Madrid, with the sponsorship from the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) of the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, the Foundation Arte y Derecho (Art and Law) and  VEGAP, the European Social Fund / EOI Escuela de Negocios (Business School), with cooperation from the Association Sustainability and Architecture (ASA) and support from Philips Lighting and El País .
